Gainesville, Fla.-based UF Health opened an $11 million outpatient children's surgical center, according to a report by The Gainesville Sun.
Here are four key notes:
1. The 17,500 square-foot center is connected to the existing UF Health Florida Surgical Center, an ASC for adults.
2. The new children's center includes four operating rooms and separate areas for preoperative care, post-anesthesia care and postoperative recovery.
3. Physicians at the center will offer care in a number of specialties, including ENT, ophthalmology, gastrointestinal, general surgery, hematologic/oncologic surgery, orthopedics, plastic surgery and urologic surgery.
4. The children's center has a colorful, nautical theme to create a welcoming environment for pediatric patients.
