Teachers Advisors bolsters stake in AmSurg in Q3; Tenet to sell hospitals in noncore markets & more — 4 ASC company key notes

Here are four updates to note on ASC management companies.

SunTrust lowered Deerfield, Ill.-based Surgical Care Affiliates shares from a "buy" to a "hold" rating. During the trading session last week, SCA shares had an intraday low of $56.54 and an intraday high of $56.79.

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare is seeking to further refine its hospital operations portfolio by selling hospitals in noncore markets. At the J.P. During the third quarter of fiscal year 2016, Teachers Advisors bought 5,487 shares of Nashville, Tenn.-based AmSurg. The purchase ups Teachers Advisors' stake in AmSurg by 0.8 percent.

Twelve research firms gave Nashville, Tenn.-based AmSurg shares a "buy" rating in January 2017. Firms covering the shares have a one-year price target of $87.88.
