Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center pulled demolition permits for three blocks of land to make way for an outpatient care center, the Chicago Sun Times reports.
Here's what you should know.
1. The center will connect to Rush's main hospital.
2. The center will also house all outpatient offices to increase patient convenience.
3. The land earmarked for demolition previously served as Rush's student housing. The university moved the students to other housing options.
4. The project has no expressed price tag or timetable; Rush still needs to file a CON with the state.
5. Rush University Medical Center spokesman John Pontarelli told the Sun Times, Rush will fund the center through operational revenue, debt financing and philanthropy.
