Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center is opening a $500 million comprehensive care outpatient center, according to Gazette.
Here are five points:
1. The center is expected to open in 2020 and will include a parking structure.
2. To build the center, Rush University Medical Center will have to demolish the student housing on the block. The hospital will help students find alternative housing.
3. Construction will begin in March and Rush is currently interviewing architects for the project.
4. Rush's new outpatient center will consolidate multiple campus outpatient clinic sites.
5. Rush expects to receive approval from the Illinois Health Facilities Review Board in mid-February.
