North Carolina public hearing set on Kernersville ASC — 4 things to know

On May 12, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services will host a public hearing on Novant Health's certificate-of-need application to open an ambulatory surgery center in Kernersville, according to greensboro.com.

Here are four things to know:

1. The department will host the hearing in the Forsyth County Public Library in Kernersville.

2. On March 15, Novant Health submitted a request to move two of its operating rooms from Winston-Salem to Kernersville.

3. The project is estimated to cost $9.8 million.

4. North Carolina's Healthcare Planning and Certificate of Need Section is accepting written comments and concerns until May 2.
