Ambulatory Surgery Center of Western New York gets permission for $4.75M expansion: 6 key notes

The Ambulatory Surgery Center of Western New York received permission to move its facility to a larger site, according to a Buffalo Business First report.

Here are six key notes:

1. New York State approved the Ambulatory Surgery Center of Western New York to move its existing facility and expand space for future growth.

2. The surgery center's upgrades include a 30,000-square-foot surgery center on 13.3 acres of land. This would double the surgery center's existing site and add a parking lot.

3. The investors will spend $4.75 million on the upgrade, which is still pending local approval.

4. The surgeons hope to begin building the new center in June, which they expect to complete in August 2017.

5. There are 25 surgeons involved in the center who performed 16,000 surgical cases last year. Specialties at the center include orthopedics, plastic surgery, pain management, ophthalmology and ENT.

6. Excelsior Orthopaedics is also completing a $9 million expansion to Buffalo Surgery Center, which is located on the same street as the Ambulatory Surgery Center of Western New York's planned expansion.
