Joint Commission Standards FAQ Addresses Laryngoscope Blade Processing, Storing

The Joint Commission has issued a new standards FAQ addressing the processing and storing of laryngoscope blades, according to an AORN report.

 

The FAQ addresses the question of, "How should we process and store laryngoscope blades?"

 

It defines the type of item laryngoscope blades are classified as by the CDC's Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee and discusses what processes Joint Commission surveyors will evaluate.
