2 New Board Members Announced for IARS and USDA’s SmartTots

Yesterday, SmartTots’s executive board officially welcomed its two newest members.

SmartTots’ executive board announced yesterday that two new executive board members will be joining its ranks.

 

 

The new recruits are Alastair J.J. Wood, MD, a professor of medicine and pharmacology at Weil Cornell Medical College in New York City, and Mr. Holger Liepmann, former Executive Vice President of global nutrition at Abbot Laboratories. 

 

 

SmartTots is a partnership between the International Anesthesia Research Society and the USDA that funds research on safe pediatric anesthesia and sedation in order to make pediatric surgery safer.

 

 

The chairman of the SmartTots board, Michael Roizen, MD, said in the press release that he expected Dr. Wood and Mr. Liepmann to be instrumental in advancing SmartTots’ fundraising efforts.
